The Priest's Bath

Pigeon - Bouillante

Voir le trajet

Located on the seafront in Bouillante, near the Pigeon Chapel, the Bain du Curé is a hot spring fed by the region’s geothermal activity, which gushes from the rock beneath an old thatched hut. Less well-known than other hot springs in the area, this site offers a more secluded and authentic atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a moment of relaxation in all simplicity.

Surrounded by pebbles, rocks, and the Caribbean Sea, the place charms with its raw, natural beauty. The site is mostly frequented by locals, who collect the hot water for its therapeutic properties (or even to drink).

🌿 Why we love this spot

  • a more secluded natural hot spring
  • a calm and authentic atmosphere
  • a rugged seaside setting
  • a geothermal experience typical of Bouillante
  • a pleasant spot at the end of the day

⚠️ Respect the site
To preserve this natural area, please do not use soap or other products in the water and take your trash with you when you leave.

🚗 Good to know
Access is via a path that is sometimes in poor condition, requiring careful driving in a low-clearance vehicle. Parking is limited nearby and may require a short walk.

💡 BAM Tip
An ideal spot for a more intimate experience of Bouillante’s hot springs, in a calm and authentic atmosphere, far from the most crowded spots. To fully enjoy the hot water, the trick is to plug the bath so the pool can fill up properly (just like a bathtub).
