The Pigeon Islets
Facing the Malendure Beach
Located off the coast of Bouillante, in the heart of the Cousteau Reserve, the Pigeon Islets are two small volcanic islets that are iconic to the Leeward Coast. Surrounded by turquoise waters and coral reefs, they are one of Guadeloupe’s most spectacular natural sites.
These islets, accessible only by sea, are at the center of an exceptional marine ecosystem. Their crystal-clear waters offer an ideal setting for snorkeling and diving, with often excellent visibility and a rich, well-preserved biodiversity.
🪸Places to explore around the Pigeon Islets

- The Pool : a calm, shallow area, ideal for snorkeling, with very clear water and beautiful marine life.
- The Coral Garden: one of the most beautiful spots in the area, with superb coral formations and a wide variety of fish.
- Islets Viewpoint: exceptional panoramic view of the islets and the Bouillante coast, perfect for admiring the site from the surface.

⚠️ Respect for the Site
The Pigeon Islets are a natural area protected by Guadeloupe National Park: it is essential not to touch the coral, not to feed marine animals, and to stay within designated navigation zones.
During kayaking trips, please also be careful when mooring so as not to damage the seabed, and avoid using sunscreen (soon to be banned) to preserve this fragile environment.
🚤 Good to Know
Access is only by sea, primarily from Malendure Beach. Several operators offer boat, kayak, or diving excursions. The site can get very crowded during peak season.
💡 BAM Tip
To fully enjoy the Pigeon Islets, opt for an early morning trip: the sea is calmer, underwater visibility is better, and the experience is much more peaceful.
